Where are we?
Dear all,
Time for an update from this end of the world! It's been a little while, but trust me, not a whole lot has happened since: the trees have lost their leafs, a beautiful autumn has almost passed and a cool breeze is here to stay. And Saint Nicolas has arrived to surprise the Dutch children every morning until his Birthday on December 6th.
Not a whole lot has happened, yet we have some great news: as of today we have moved into our new apartment in Delft (in between Rotterdam and The Hague), because a week ago I (Cindy) signed the contract for my new role as Communications Advisor at the Dutch equivalent of the Australian CSIRO called TNO.(www.tno.nl) A great opportunity and I am very much looking forward to working a big bunch of engineers and PhD's
I'll basically will be trying to get the right information out of their heads and translate this into 'normal Dutch' in order to share this with the market. Ask me more in a couple of weeks, because I'm sure I can be more specific then! I'll be starting tomorrow already!
Danté is still interviewing for a couple of positions. Originally we were looking to move to the southern part of the country, because it is a lot less crowded and much greener, but the economical centre just isn't there. Being in Delft will help greatly.
Apart from that he is busy taking driving classes and studying for the accompanying theory exam. His licence is only valid for 6 months here and he will have to do both his theory and his driving exam soon here. It's just the way the Dutch system works..
Will keep you updated and hope you are all fine, enjoying the warmth in Singapore, Australia, Canada (?!) or where ever you are!
Take care,
Danté & Cindy

Great to hear from you both. It sounds as though things are progressing reasonably well. As you can imagine things tend to stay pretty much the same when all the "newness" wears off! But summer has arrived with some fairly hot days (37C today) and not enough rain, yet. I'll put together a decent letter before Christmas. Take care
